Terms of Service

1. Operator and scope of these Terms

“Bible Gacha / 聖書ガチャ” (the “Service”) is operated by Ryotaro Takamatsu (the “Operator”). These Terms apply to the website, sign-in features, online saving, and other features provided through the Service.

2. Service features

The Service provides features such as random Bible passage display, theme-based draws, search, Collection, Favorites, History, account sign-in, and online saving and synchronization. Features, presentation, and methods of delivery may change as the Service is improved or maintained.

3. Accounts and authentication

Some features are available through account registration or external authentication such as Google. You must use authentication information that you are authorized to use and take reasonable care to prevent unauthorized access to your account.

If a verified email address provided by Google or another authentication provider matches an existing Bible Gacha account, the accounts may be linked so that the same user's saved data can continue to be used.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to:

• violate applicable law or public order;
• impersonate another person or use another person's account without authorization;
• attempt unauthorized access to, exploit vulnerabilities in, or interfere with the Service, related APIs, authentication systems, or servers;
• perform excessive automated access, scraping, or other activity that places unreasonable load on the Service;
• infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, or other rights of third parties; or
• engage in other conduct that the Operator reasonably determines materially interferes with the safe operation of the Service.

5. Bible text, third-party content, and external services

Bible text, translations, and related metadata displayed through the Service may be subject to rights held by their respective owners or providers. The Service may retrieve and display content through external services such as API.Bible. No rights in the Bible text itself are transferred to the Operator by these Terms.

When the Service uses Google, Amazon Web Services (AWS) / Amazon Cognito, Google Analytics, API.Bible, or other external services, their respective terms and policies may also apply.

6. Privacy and data

For information about personal data, Google sign-in data, Collection/Favorites/History, online saving, and Google Analytics, see the Privacy Policy.

Local guest data may be lost if browser site data is deleted, the device is changed, or similar events occur. Online-saved data is also not guaranteed to be retained without interruption in every circumstance, including outages or synchronization failures.

7. Changes, suspension, and discontinuation

The Operator may change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service for reasonable reasons such as feature improvements, maintenance, incident response, security measures, or changes to external services. The Operator will seek to reduce the impact where practical, but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

8. Service purpose and disclaimers

The Service is intended to provide opportunities to encounter Scripture and support reading and reflection. Randomly displayed passages and theme-based selections do not constitute medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator does not make guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or continuous availability of the information or features provided by the Service.

9. Intellectual property

Except for third-party content such as Bible text, rights in the Service's original design, software, logos, text, and other materials belong to the Operator or their lawful rights holders. These Terms do not transfer those rights to users.

10. Usage restrictions and account deletion

If there is a serious violation of these Terms, unauthorized access, or conduct that materially affects the Service or other users, the Operator may take necessary and reasonable measures, including restricting use or taking action on the relevant account.

11. Limitation of liability

Except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, including cases involving the Operator's intentional misconduct or gross negligence where applicable, the Operator limits liability for loss arising from use or inability to use the Service to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer-protection or other mandatory law.

12. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated when features, external services, laws, or operating practices change. Material changes will be announced through the Service when appropriate. Updated Terms apply from the time they are posted on this page or from another effective date stated with the update.

13. Governing law and contact

The Japanese, English, and Tagalog versions are intended to express the same terms. If an interpretation differs, the Japanese version will control to the extent permitted by applicable law.
